What people say about Zaheen’s keynotes and resilience leadership training.

"Zaheen was well received and made our event a huge success. This success can be attributed to her diligent preparations, involving connecting with a sample set of our lawyers in advance of the event. Zaheen was able to incorporate our legal language and scenarios into her talk, which allowed her to connect with and engage the group throughout the entire session... I would highly recommend her for professional audiences looking for simple but highly effective tools to assist in times of change."

Keynote: Zaheen focuses only on one keynote topic

Building Your
Resilience Reflex™

How to Shift from Chaos to Control in an Age of Change
Change is inevitable

In this new economy and digital world, change is inevitable. With change comes challenges, obstacles, stress and overwhelm. Now more than ever, leaders and professionals require a different set of strategies and skills to cope and manage, which is why building your resilience is important so it becomes your reflex in these changing times.

In this keynote you will learn:
  • A simple skill to avoid thinking traps that keeps them stuck
  • How to boost problem solving skills so they can manage emotional and behavioural consequences more effectively
  • How to reprogram and reinvent themselves in order to bounce back
  • The 3 R’s to building Resilience Reflex™
  • A phenomenal technique to create real time resilience

Meet Zaheen:

Resilience isn’t an inherent trait - it’s an earned one.

I jumped one grade as a precocious child, and so developed a stutter by the age of seven. I grew up with it, travelled alone at fifteen from Kenya to Canada with it, tried keeping it secret through university by dodging class activities that would reveal my repetitive sounds, drawn out syllables, and pained silences.

Avoidance IS the best way to never move forward.

But failing college wasn’t an option, so I did inevitably get speech therapy. I just didn’t improve because nothing changes when we passively wait for problems to fix themselves.

It was a therapist that presented me with the only two choices we ever really have: Stay where you are in life. Or use the resources you’ve been given to face your fear...and practice doing life differently.

I practiced asking strangers the time even if I knew it.

I practiced ordering food with my broken words - not by pointing at the menu.

Implementation is the enemy of stagnation.
They’re problems that live in the mind.

When we’re stalling from overwhelm at our jobs. Prolonging issues like weight gain or burnout by resisting change. Repeating our relationship mistakes as we avoid the real issue with ourselves.

Resiliency isn’t the endgame that forever ends our challenges. Resiliency is the practice of courageously working our way through them. This is how we master our life. This is how we thrive.

And though I haven’t always been prepared for what I’ve had to face:
  • ‍The gut churning lessons of running my own business, brick and mortar or online.
  • Postpartum depression.
  • The moment my hair fell out in my hands hours before giving a speech, even though I knew the side effects of chemo.
I’m stronger for these experiences. Resiliency is a practice - the practice of handling change in the workplace and in your own life by acknowledging your fears... and deciding to move forward anyway. Resiliency is about adapting and being flexible in the process.

Let me help you build resilience in the workplace and in life. I’m also passionate about building resilience in children, and if you’re an educator or a parent association, I’d love to connect with you!

That’s not to say I don’t have days where I eat terribly, but instead of feeling like a failure, I pick myself up and get back to my healthy lifestyle. I don’t let minor setbacks ruin everything. As someone who has been following these guidelines somewhat subconsciously, it was educational to see it written down on paper in an easy to digest format. This will help me as a practitioner be better able to educate others on following these same principles.

Resilience Reflex: 8 Keys to Transforming Barriers into Success in Life and Business

Winner of 2016 Global Ebook Awards Bronze Medal for Non-Fiction in Inspirational / Visionary
“THE RESILIENCE REFLEX: 8 KEYS TO TRANSFORMING BARRIERS INTO SUCCESS IN LIFE AN BUSINESS by Zaheen Nanji is an excellent book for anyone who wants to make real and positive change in life.

Inside, I was drawn in immediately. I was already on a journey with the author, and she wrote to me like a girlfriend to girlfriend style, although of course, men can benefit from this book as well. The chapters are laid out well and the way the learning portion of the material is presented, the reader won't be overwhelmed with doing too much at one time or find it's too difficult to handle all the suggestions.

Everything is practical and possible. One of my favorite chapters is on beliefs. Overall, a very helpful book.”
~ Judge - Writer’s Digest 24th Annual Self-Published Book Awards
“This book is helping me through a stressful time in my life, by providing me with the tools that I need to build up and improve my own resilience, and work through the struggles that I am facing, so that I don’t end up stuck in a rut. It is very easy to get caught up in the downward spiral of self pity and it takes a change in mindset to move forward. Zaheen doesn’t just tell you what you need to do to build more resilience – she shows you how in The Resilience Reflex.

Her own struggles and stories are woven throughout and they allowed me to feel a deep connection and develop a better understanding of how to work through life’s setbacks. The applications and lessons in this book can apply to your personal life as well as your professional life.”

~Danisha Bhaloo-Shivji
BGCBigs Development & Comms Manager

We hired Zaheen this summer (2019) to facilitate a two part Speaker's Bureau Workshop for 15 of our staff, providing them with tools to go out in the community and champion the work that we do. She helped them to create their own story, share it effectively with others through public speaking, and provide feedback for each of our staff. Since the workshops, we've had a number of our staff out in the community speaking on behalf of our children and families to funders, corporate donors and individuals. ALL of them feel comfortable and provided excellent testimonials and appreciation to Zaheen for helping them get out of their comfort zone and into a new level of development!

You were very easy to deal with. Pleasant manner, tone of voice and easy to speak to.  You kind of have the voice and demeanor that make people "want" to talk with you. Once people know your story, they want to talk to you more, perhaps to grab a bit of your strength and positive attitude in their own lives.  I find you to have a caring way about you. Concerned for others and how you can help them be better at being them.
